The Artist

Currently residing in Atlanta, southern splendor and elegance comes to mind when thinking about the artwork of Najee Dorsey, a native of Arkansas with roots in Louisiana. Najee loves to express himself in mix media, using acrylic paints, decorative fabrics, inks and handmade papers are used to share the human story.

Over the last eighteen years, he has produced a body of work that has grown in substance and style. Since the move to Atlanta, Najee has produced a body of work that has been collected throughout the country and exhibited throughout the South, in Chicago, New York and California.

Najee is the recipient of numerous honors including the 2006 Patrons Purchase Award from the Polk Museum of Art, works purchased for Newnan County Public Library of Georgia, Marietta Museum of Art, Liberty Bank of New Orleans and in the permanent collection of the African American Museum of Dallas,TX.
